Our materials

We start from a plant, not a barrel.

Most shoes are oil — knit polyester, EVA foam, polyurethane glues. We work back from the planet. Every Loomstead piece is made from a material that already knows how to return to it.

Merino Wool
01 — Upper

Merino Wool the softer side of comfort.

Spun in New Zealand from ZQ-certified merino — the most rigorous animal-welfare standard in the world. Merino regulates temperature on its own: cool when you're hot, warm when you're not. We knit each upper in a single piece so the cutting floor stays bare.

Eucalyptus Tree
02 — Knit

Eucalyptus Tree breathable, breezy, and grown to grow back.

Our active shoes are knit from FSC-certified eucalyptus pulp — a hardwood that needs no irrigation and recovers each harvest. The fiber spins into a silky, cooling knit, perfect for the kind of run where you forget what you're wearing.

Sugarcane SweetFoam™
03 — Sole

Sugarcane SweetFoam™ the world's first carbon-negative EVA.

Most foam soles are petroleum — they squeak, they yellow, they last forever in the wrong way. Ours grow in the fields of southern Brazil. The sugarcane sequesters CO₂ as it grows, then becomes the bouncy cushion under your heel.
