Bone Horizon

Iris Vermeer-Hale
New paintings in oil and beeswax

Iris Vermeer-Hale's seventh solo exhibition at Maison Orel gathers eleven new paintings made over thirty-one months in a converted lime kiln on the Kent coast. The work continues her enquiry into horizon, sediment and the long held breath — surfaces built up in oil, wax and ground pigment, the way a stone wall is built.
