A waiting list, gently kept.
Royal has 540 members. We accept between fifteen and twenty new members each year, almost all by introduction from an existing member. The waiting list runs at around eighteen months.
If you do not know a member, the Secretary will happily put you on the visitor list for a year — most of our newest members joined after a season of guest rounds.

A one-time joining contribution is required at acceptance, equivalent to one year's subscription. Spouses and partners join at 50% of the relevant tier.

The membership committee meets monthly. You're either approved, asked to wait, or politely declined.
